Government Grants for Central Heating: ECO Flex Grant

Central heating boiler being fitted by gas expert

The government provides ECO Flex Central Heating Grants to households living on a low income and spend a wide portion of it heating the home.

Households are qualified at the discretion of the Local Authority under which they live. The qualifying criteria are:

income

The ECO Flex Grant is aimed at households on a low income. A large portion of this low income is spent heating the home when it could be better used elsewhere.

Age

Living in cold conditions at an older age can lead to long-term health issues.

Property Type

A property with an EPC rating of E, F, or G may be particularly difficult to heat due to poor insulation, which can often be more expensive to heat.

Health

Householders with heart and lung issues such as respiratory diseases or cancer benefit from a warmer home. This is another factor the government will consider when applying for an ECO Flex Central Heating Grant.

Government Grants For Central Heating: Radiator Scheme

A central heating grant provides households with funding for the following:

  • Mains Gas Boiler

  • Radiators

  • Pipework

  • Room Thermostat

You may also have a choice of the following:

  • Air Source Heat Pumps

  • Biomass Boilers

  • Ground Source Heat Pumps

  • Electric Boilers

  • LPG Boilers

However, most installers offer either a mains gas boiler or an LPG boiler.

First Time Central Heating Grants

Households will only qualify for a central heating grant if the home has never had a central heating system installed. Therefore, your home will not qualify if it had had a system in place at one time, even if it was removed before you moved in.

A central heating system makes all the difference in a home, particularly throughout the winter months. Don’t miss out on this free grant by getting in touch with us today!
